What can acupuncture treat?
Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) in a complete medical system. Every patient is an individual and treatments are not based on a protocol, but are individualized to fit your specific needs.
Can I come to acupuncture while I am receiving other therapies?
Yes, you can do psychotherapy, physical therapy, chiropractic, or any other therapy while getting acupuncture. There are some situations where it may be best to do therapy at a time, but that can be further discussed at the first visit.
Is acupuncture safe?
Acupuncture is safe, gentle, and effective in treating a great number of conditions.
How long will each treatment take?
The first visit take at least 60 minutes, as we take a very complete history. Follow up visits are 45-60 minutes.
How will a home visit work?
Many people prefer home visits. Whether you are home bound or just prefer to enjoy these treatments in the privacy of your own home, this is a wonderful option for some. During home visits, I can bring and set-up the appropriate table or chair (if needed). I take a detailed history and examination. With that information, I form a Chinese medical diagnosis and treatment plan. I execute the plan. After the treatment, we can discuss your treatment plan for moving forward. This will include how many visits will be needed, if any herbs, supplements or dietary changes are needed as well.. In my experience, most patients have improvement in their symptoms within a few visits. Full symptoms resolution depends on your specific condition. This can be discussed further after the full intake and examination.

Most people, even children do not find acupuncture painful. I take great care to keep my patients comfortable during our treatments. Our treatments are always tailored to your specific need and that includes your comfort.

Pregnancy and Fertility
Is acupuncture safe during pregnancy?
Absolutely! Acupuncture is used every day to support expectant mother through all trimesters with nausea, constipation, pain, insomnia, and much more. Acupuncture is also used to help support an easy labor. During my work at Lutheran NYU’s Labor and Delivery I used acupuncture to help ease labor and support a more natural birthing process.

Fertility treatment require a minimum commitment of 90 days, as this is the amount of time it takes to produce a new egg in a woman.

Basal body temperatures help acupuncturist determine what is happening with your hormones at any given time of the month. We can help support you with herbal formulas based on your intake and basal body temperatures.
What about advanced maternal age?
Acupuncture for women over 40 is amazing!! We all know that the declining fertility after 35 is primarily about decreasing blood flow to the vital reproductive organs. Acupuncture is a well-researched and well documented way to improve blood flow. If you are over 40 and trying to conceive, lets work together!
Can both men and women be treated to enhance fertility?
Yes, absolutely! We treat both men and women for issues surrounding fertility. Women may suffer with fibroid, endometriosis, or idiopathic infertility. Men typically seek treatment for erectile dysfunction, premature ejaculation, and sperm related issues (count, morphology).
Can children take Chinese herbs?
Absolutely! I have seen children have great outcomes using Chinese herbs and acupuncture (needle or needle-free) techniques.
What if my child doesn’t like needles?
No problem! We have many other options including acupressure. I have studied in Pediatric care in Japan in the past year. Japan is world renowned for their acupuncture for children treatment programs. Japanese shonishin (which is something like scraping over acupoints) is a great option for children that may be afraid of needles. Ear seed pressure points can also be used. There are many options for treating children. This is one of my areas of expertise!
